Short ovate, black or piceous, the antennae, and the legs wholly or in part, ferruginous; the vestiture fine, brown and white intermixed, the white scales on the elytra condensed into irregular, interrupted, undulate fasciae. Head rugulosely punctate, carinate on the vertex, the eyes rather prominent; rostrum comparatively slender, feebly curved, reaching as far as the posterior margin of the middle coxae, rugulosely punctate and obsoletely carinate in the ♂, much smoother and shining in the ♀. Prothorax constricted and much narrowed in front, finely punctate; the disc binodose and shallowly sulcate, the lateral tubercles moderately prominent, the anterior margin notched in the middle. Elytra deeply punctate-striate, the interstices finely asperate, the alternate ones raised. Mesosternum with a very prominent oblique ridge on each side between the middle coxae, the metasternum flattened or slightly depressed in front. Fifth ventral segment deeply foveate in the middle, and all the tibiae unguiculate at the inner apical angle, in the ♂
