Holotype: "Female holotype and paratype from Reno, evada, June1 , 1941, (Ira La Rivers), in the American Museum of Natural History" (Muma, 1951, p. 105).
"Dentitions and structure nearly identical with those of denticulata. Specific differences occur in the opercula (fig. 210)" (Muma, 1951, p. 105).
