Length: male, 1% in.; female, 1 1/4 in.; light brown; wing disc red or yellow; frontal costa decidedly constricted in line with base of antenna; lateral foveolae of vertex large and circular; hind tibiae buff. Adults taken in September. A rare species found in sandy or dry soil with scattered clumps of short grass in the sagebrush desert. Vermilion Cliffs (Rehn and Hebard), Fredonia (Ball), and Concho (Tinkham). Northern Arizona to Utah, Idaho, and California
