An unusually variable species. Forewing has irregular dark spots. When the wings are folded, narrow ivory stripes on the forewings converge to form a V, particularly in males. Hind wings are yellow, orangish, pink, or red with a black band. Pronotum is rough or bumpy. Inner face of the femora bears two complete or incomplete black bands, and the background color varies from orange to red. Hind tibiae are yellow or orange. Males are 26-33 mm long, females 33-46 mm.
