Utah Tech University Natural Science Museum’s Insect Collection (UTU-UTU-I)The collections of Utah Technical University’s Natural Science Museum were originally made solely to help students become familiar with the area’s plants and animals. With the institution’s change from a two-year college in 2013, its commitment to technology education, and the growing importance of biodiversity informatics led to the decision to start digitizing the existing collection and using it to help ensure students become familiar with the new tools being developed for recording, sharing, and using specimen-based biodiversity information.
