ID Remarks: I originally thought this voucher was Genus Hahncappsia; and that ID was later confirmed by Paul Dennehy. He offered to dissect the three specimens I'd collected. The results of the dissection were that all three vouchers were actually female Ostrinia nubilalis - a common species here. The distinguishing feature a "...very serrate subterminal line on the forewing will separate Ostrinia from Hahncappsia, but the subterminal lines on these are so faint they weren't even apparent in the photos" (PD). With Paul's permission I've added his photo of the genitalia to the page. I want to thank Paul for doing the dissections and although the vouchers were not what we thought they do confirm that the specimens were Ostrinia nubilalis. @paul_dennehy
